Track Your Investments Across Accounts With One Organized Portfolio Dashboard
Investment Portfolio Tracker is an official companion resource created to support, extend, and enhance the implementation of The Wealth Builder's Guide. This Excel workbook helps investors track accounts, holdings, transactions, portfolio value, cost basis, gains and losses, asset allocation, account breakdowns, and rebalancing alerts in one structured tracker.
This workbook is designed for educational portfolio organization. Users can enter their investment accounts, add holdings, update current prices manually, log transactions, review dashboard summaries, compare actual allocation against target allocation, and use rebalancing suggestions to identify where attention may be needed. It is not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
- Includes a Start Here guide with a step-by-step workflow for setting preferences, adding accounts, entering holdings, tracking transactions, reviewing the dashboard, and checking rebalancing alerts.
- Provides portfolio settings for base currency, target asset allocation, drift thresholds, monthly contribution settings, and optional benchmark returns.
- Includes target allocation categories for US Stocks, International Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, Cash, Alternatives, and Crypto.
- Includes default warning and critical drift thresholds for rebalancing alerts.
- Provides an accounts sheet for tracking account name, account type, tax-advantaged status, institution, and notes.
- Includes a holdings tracker for ticker/symbol, asset name, asset class, account, shares or units, average cost, cost basis, current price, current value, gain/loss, dividend yield, and notes.
- Uses formulas to calculate total cost basis, current value, dollar gain/loss, and gain/loss percentage for each holding.
- Includes a transaction log for buys, sells, dividends, contributions, withdrawals, fees, and notes.
- Includes a dashboard showing total portfolio value, total cost basis, total gain/loss, gain/loss percentage, asset allocation vs. target, account breakdown, and contribution summary fields.
- Includes a rebalancing tab that compares current percentage vs. target percentage, calculates drift, shows alert status, and suggests whether an asset class may need trimming, buying, or no action.
Use this workbook to organize your investment portfolio, monitor allocation drift, and build a more consistent review process across multiple investment accounts.
